Two students commit suicide by hanging on tree at Old Goa

This incident took place in the wee hours of Monday reported the Old Goa police. Two students from Carambolim near old Goa had allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves on the branch of a tree on a single rope. The reason behind the murder is not known as no suicide note was found with them said the Old Goa police.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] According to the Old Goa PI Krishna Sinari, both the deceased are from Sokoilowado, Carambolim near Old Goa have been identified as Gitesh Murgaonkar (18) a student of standard XI and Nishita Bhomkar (15) student of standard IX.

According to the old Goa police narration, the girl Nishita was not traceable by the family members since 1.30am on Monday. She was apparently staying with her uncle during her examination. The family said that they received the call from Gitesh (deceased) saying that the two are going somewhere far and that the family should stop searching for them.

According to the sources, at around 8am Old Goa Police received the call informing them that two bodies had been found hanging on a tree from one rope. Police immediately rushed to the spot and did the panchanama of the bodies.

The police said that they handed over the bodies of the deceased to their respective families after conducting the postmortem examination at Goa Medical Collage (GMC) at Bambolim, Goa.

PI Sinari said that both were friends and that no purpose of the suicide has come into the light so far. This is the second case of an alleged suicide in the Old Goa police jurisdiction and the first one is yet to be solved by the police.

It may be recalled that in the month of June, 2015, A 35-year-old Raibandar youth found hanging in mysterious circumstances on the tree branch which is almost 10ft higher from the ground level with both his hands and legs were tied, a handkerchief around his mouth and head was covered with cloth and the Old Goa police had ruled out the possibility of the murder.
