Former Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida has rejoined the BJP, marking his return to the party after a stint with the Congress. Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade, BJP President, formally welcomed him with a BJP shawl, signifying his re-entry into the party. The BJP has hailed Almeida’s return as a significant boost to their leadership in the region.

In a press statement, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade expressed his satisfaction at Almeida’s decision to rejoin the party fold. He also extended a warm welcome to all the newly joined BJP members. Tanavade emphasized that Almeida and his team would lend their full support to BJP South Goa LS Candidate Pallavi Dempo, enhancing the party’s strength in Mormugao Taluka.

Carlos Almeida cited the government’s developmental initiatives as a key factor in his decision to align with the saffron party. Speaking to the press, Goa Transport Minister and Dabolim MP, Mauvin Godinho, expressed confidence in Tanavade’s leadership and asserted BJP’s prospects of securing victory in both Lok Sabha seats in Goa.

Godinho commended BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo for her efforts in bridging the gap with minorities in South Goa, describing it as a new movement propelling Goa towards progress. He derided the opposition as directionless, likening them to crabs in a barrel, particularly in their delay in declaring candidates.

In conclusion, Godinho affirmed the BJP’s unwavering confidence in securing victory in Mormugao and anticipated that their success would reverberate across Goa.
