According to police the postmortem report revealed that the death happened out of ASPHYXIA due to hanging, though police has ruled out the possibility of murder at this stage and registered the case of unnatural death, however the police sources have claimed that they are investigating into this matter from all the angles including the possibility of Murder.

The background of Chodankar is little shady as he was involved into many financial crimes, he was a bank loan defaulter and there are cheque bounce cases pending against him, he also borrowed money from some people.  Incidentally, Chodankar had gone ‘missing’ since last one week and it is learnt that he had spoken to his parents on the phone on Tuesday midnight informing them that he is coming home. His parents did not lodge any missing complaint this time as he was habitual into this, the complaint was lodged last time he went missing but then he returned back home after few days.

According to the police sources the deceased was working as a supervisor in a real estate firm. The incident came into light on Wednesday morning when the people of that locality spotted his body hanging on a tree, immediately police rushed to the spot, the identity of the deceased was revealed by police based on the Aadhar Card that was in his wallet. After the little investigation of a crime scene police ruled out any foul play claiming that there were no signs of scuffle or any other disturbance and that there were no injury marks on the body of the deceased. Few meters away from the scene of offence, the police found a two-wheeler and the bag of the deceased.
