Distribution of new ration cards stars from Monday 26th October

Recently the new policy on the use of ration cards imposed by the central government under which 5.32 applications has shortlisted for allotment of ration cards in Goa under the National Food Security Act. According to the available information the distribution will start from 26th October and will close on 4th November, the new pink color food security cards, will be replacing the existing white colored ration cards. The circular in this regards had issued by the state government on Tuesday.

The sources have revealed that, the civil supplies department has identified around 1.32 lakh beneficiaries while extending the same to around 4.80 lakh households in the state of Goa, based on this, the government printing press has printed and digitized the food security cards and dispatched the same to all the Taluka in Goa for distribution. The sources in the civil supplied department have said that the first distribution of the NFSA cards will start at Panchayats through village panchayat secretary and ration cards related to the Municipal area will be distributed through the Taluka offices of the civil supplies department. The cards will be strictly given only to the authorized person with proper verification and under no circumstances it will be handed over to any other family members whoever it may be.

Distribution of the subsidized ration quota will start from the month of December whereby the beneficiaries will be given five kgs of rice per month at the rate of Rs. 3/- per kg on by producing the digitized ration cards. In case, some card holders did not manage to collect their cards after the deadline set by the authorities the same will be made available at the Taluka office of the civil supplies department.

As per the instructions from the civil supplies department the card holders will have to carry Rs. 20/- worth special adhesive stamp along with them as fees towards the renewal of the card and the same will affix at the back page of the register for records purpose. The responsibility of the distribution is given to the civil supplies inspectors who will be coordinating the smooth distribution in association with Panchayat secretary by keeping the records of the day-to-day progress of the distribution.

This time, the analysis of the applications have been done with a lot of caution to make sure that only the genuine people get the benefit of the NFSA scheme.
