The former PWD minister who was remanded to 4 days police custody last week by the special court in the Louis Berger bribery case has further sent to 3 more days of police custody on the reasoning of non co operation in the investigation. Alemao’s bail application came for hearing today in the special court who is handling the matter of Louis Berger bribery case in Goa but it was rejected by the court on the grounds of non cooperation in the investigation with the police.

According to the available information, Churchill was brought to the court in very tight security of the police. According to the counsel of police Adv. Guruprasad Kirtani, the involvement of Alemao in bribery case has already been established but he is not cooperating with the police investigation, besides this police are also tracing the JICA files which went missing from the PWD office and JICA project office and in such case Alemao was needed to face further investigation in this case.

Police has claimed the involvement of Kamat & Alemao in the file misplace chapter while the accused is targeting the police in the entire matter of missing file case. While for Kamat and his aides, the file is the biggest loophole in the investigation, for the police, it is the single-most reason why they need to arrest Kamat. The police planning to argue to the matter of custody of Kamat claiming that it is Churchill and Kamat are behind the file disappearance. According to the police the file contains the implicating evidences which will reveal the irregularities.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has been in power since 2012. It must answer how the file went missing. If they don’t have the file, how can they target and arrest people on the basis of other people’s testimonies,” asked Durgadas Kamat, a state Congress leader, while according to the police this whole scam could not be established without the documentary evidences and they exists in the missing JICA file. Meanwhile Alemao tried to plead in the court for his release on the grounds that he is innocent in this matter but special court judge B P Deshpande has adjourned the matter till 13th August on the grounds that until his extended custody period does not get over he will not be able to get bailed out.

With this new game they it has been made sure that the south Goa heavyweight politician should remain behind the bars for now and may be for more? Meanwhile the prime accused is still waiting for his turn to come. What is the new turn this game will take? Who will be crucified and who would be freed? Only time will tell. Till then please do leave your most valuable comments and suggestions on this issue.
