A resident of New-Vaddem Ashpak Katoor (20) was arrested by Verna police on Thursday for his involvement in house robberies at Quelossim. He was also arrested for theft at three other locations in Maina Curtorim. Here is the report.
[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] As informed by the Verna police two four-wheelers including a Maruti van, bearing registration number GA-06-D-7605 and a Ford car bearing registration number GA-08-E-4588 have recovered from the burglary which was used by him while committing these offenses.
Police also informed that Kattor a month ago had committed theft in a house at Quelossim and stolen cash and gold ornaments worth around Rs 1.90 lakh. He also had robbed Maina Curtorim area. From there he robbed from three different houses from where cash, gold and foreign currency and amount valued at Rs 5 lakh, were stolen.
The stolen properties have been recovered by the police from the possession of the alleged accused. The police said that he has confessed and was found guilty to his involvement in the robberies.
The police have registered an offense under sections 457, 380 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Vasco and his 5-day police custody was obtained. Police sub-inspector Navin Desai under the supervision of PI Shailesh Narvekar is further investigating the case.
