According to one survey conducted by the Aam Aadmi Party (the chart is at the bottom) in Goa it has been revealed that Goans completely disagree with the decision taken by BJP cabinet to Pardon convicted Mickky Pacheco who is undergoing six month imprisonment in the Sada Jail in Vasco. Now the question is how the AAP has come to this conclusion? What they have exactly done to find out who wants Mickky to come out of the Jail and who don’t? Here is the answer for all your questions.

According to the mail received by Goa Prism News Desk from the office of AAP it has been divulged that the AAP Goa volunteers carried the sample survey in all the major places of Goa on 6th and 7th August 2015 approaching the Goans from all walks of life from the students to the senior citizens and asked them their opinion on the PARDON of Mickky, the participants have been asked three questions.

  1. Do you support the decision of BJP led government’s cabinet to pardon the convicted criminal Mr. Mickky Pacheco?
  2. In your opinion should the Hon. Governor of Goa give her consent to the petition of the cabinet to pardon the convicted criminal Mr. Mickky Pacheco?
  3. If you are given the opportunity to decide, would you pardon convicted criminal like Mr. Mickky Pacheco?

Surprisingly, 94% of the Goans were of the opinion that the law should be the same for everyone and the convicted criminals should not be pardoned and that too just because he is a MLA. The two common reactions from people were 1) “Aamka konn pardon kortolo aaslo?” (Who would have pardoned us a common Man?) and 2) “Aiz Mickky, faalya ani konn” (If today its Mickky tomorrow somebody else will be) this was clear indication from the people that there should not distinction between Aam Aadmi and Khas Aadmi and if that happens then it will surely set a wrong example for the society and all the MLAs will take the rescue of this by committing crime, there is no big crime and small crime “The Crime is Crime

Meanwhile there are reports from various sources that the former Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco is getting impatient in the jail and maintaining the pressure on the government through his sources to get him freed from the jail. But he may not succeed in his plan in spite of all the efforts of his cabinet colleagues to get him out of the jail on the pretext that he needed to raise the issue pertaining to his constituency. The file recommending pardon was sent to Governor Mridula Sinha for her assent, but it appears that there’s a possibility that she may not approve it. A source said if the governor agreed with the government’s decision, she would have cleared the file within two-three days.

The sources have also revealed that the Government is not in favor of releasing Mickky before the completion of the sentence but they bowed down before the local representatives, Sarpachas and ZP members of Nuvem constituency who pledged for the Mickky Pacheco’s release.  Though Pacheco also filed the parole petition to attend the ongoing assembly session but the Goa IGP (Inspector General of Police) who is the deciding authority in this matter thinks that Pacheco should not be granted the parole as he has other criminal cases pending against him and he may intimidate the complainants and witness.
