The Famous or we say Infamous and convicted Nuem MLA who is cooling heels in Sada Jail for the six months term for slapping the junior engineer of electricity department in 2006.  One may think this is the only case which he is going through, but the fact is that Mickky is facing more than half a dozen cases filed against him by various people. The report in this regards have been published by Gary Azavedo of Times of India in which he mentioned the number of cases Miccky is facing at the moment.

According to the report “This is not the only case registered against the former rural development agency minister, who has more than half-a-dozen cases registered against him. While the legislator was acquitted in a case of arson registered against him by Philip Collins, a resident of Ranvaddo-Betalbatim, on April 4, 2002, Pacheco was earlier sent to jail after his bail plea was rejected by the courts. In another case, where Pacheco was accused of having been an abettor to the suicide of his friend Nadia Torrado from Lotoulim, the police are now seeking to close the case with a request in this regard being made to the director of prosecution.”

The cases are of various genres but all of them are criminal in nature. According to the report, one of the case filed in year 2010 in which FIR was registered by the then PI of Maina Curtorim Police Station Siddhant Shirodkar under section 306, 304, 201 read with 34 of IPC, which was subsequently handed over to the Dona Paula Crime Branch office for the investigation. Subsequently Pacheco was arrested on July 8, 2010 and was later released on bail on July 26, 2010.  The Crime Branch at Dona Paula also investigating into three more cases in which the FIRs have been registered at Margao and Quepem respectively by the former wife of Mickky Sara Pacheco.

There is another FIR against Pacheco for illegal land filling on March 8, 2010 which was filed by the Town Planner Rajesh Naik of the Town & Country Planning at Margao under the section 17A of TCP Act which is under investigation at Margao Police station. Another case of cheating faced by Pacheco which was lodged by the bank manager of Ratnakar Bank Ltd., Cashinath Bhimappa Subhanawar on July 10, 1997 under section 420 read with 34 IPC. The case is pending before trial court, Pacheco was arrested and charge sheeted in this case also.

There is also an election-related case registered against Pacheco along with another co-accused Manuel Anton Pereira. The FIR was filed by Peter Luis Pereira of Alto Mangor, Vasco, on May 31, 2007, under Sections 447 (criminal trespass), 427 (mischief causing damage), 171-C, 171-F (undue influence and impersonation) read with 34 IPC. Manuel was arrested on June 16, 2007, and later chargesheeted on November 7, 2007, with the case being declared as “compounded”, according to a reply obtained under the RTI Act.

Looking at the above facts, how much load of the cases and that too all of them being criminal in nature have been hauled by Pacheco till now? How far one can go with this stack? He probably needs to take break and think over the deeds of the past? In fact he has been given the break by the law but he is fighting over that too?
