GSL has bolstered ‘Make in India’ Policy of Govt of India – RAdm SHEKHAR MITAL
The 69th anniversary of Independence was celebrated at Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) with patriotic fervor. Rear Admiral Shekhar Mital, NM, IN (Retd) Chairman & Managing Director unfurled the National flag at the GSL campus, which was synchronized with the singing of National Anthem and Guard of honour by the CISF personnel. The function was preceded by Patriotic songs in Hindi, Konkani and Marathi composed and presented by GSL’s Serenade Group, CISF personnel and students from KV School. CISF Personal also presented Weapon drill during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman & Managing Director said that “Goa Shipyard Ltd. has bolstered ‘Make in India’ Policy of the present Government. Work on more than 11 bigger ships is being undertaken concurrently in GSL – it shows our resolve to grow. Indeed, with very proactive and supportive Govt. both at the Centre and at Sate level the Yard is rightly positioned for rapid growth in the years ahead”. He lauded each and every employee of GSL for the wholehearted cooperation and team spirit, which has resulted in the increased productivity and quality of work. RAdm Mital called upon the employees to re-dedicate themselves for continued improvement of the Shipyard and asked them to be vigilant.
On the occasion, GSL employees were awarded with special commendation and commendation certificates for outstanding performance in their respective areas of work, while meritorious students received scholarship awards from the Chairman & Managing Director. Besides, quality circle awards, safety week celebration awards, safe driving awards & best turnout award for CISF were also presented on the occasion.
