The 66th Republic Day was marked with traditional enthusiasm at GSL. RAdm Shekhar Mital, NM, IN (Retd) CMD, GSL unfurled the national flag, which was synchronized by a spirited rendition of the national anthem. An impressive guard of honour was presented by CISF contingent on the occasion. As always, the mood was created by the singing of patriotic songs by GSL’s Serenade group and students of KV–I. CISF contingent demonstrated a spectacular weapon drill on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, CMD lauded each and every employee of GSL for their whole hearted cooperation and team spirit, which has made the turnaround possible. RAdm Mital said “As compared to previous year, we have achieved reasonable good growth, progress and new milestones in the year gone by. Despite numerous challenges, GSL is marching ahead on the path of growth”. CMD made a clarion call to all the employees to inculcate the spirit of competitiveness in their respective area of work considering the current market scenario and continuously work towards improving systems and processes.
On the occasion, a number of GSL employees were awarded with Special Commendation and Commendation certificates for outstanding performance in their respective areas of work and long service award for completion of 25 years of devoted service. Besides, Quality Circle Awards, Quami Ekta Week Celebration Awards and Best Turnout Awards were also presented on the occasion. As part of Swachh Bharat Mission, a cleanliness drive was carried out inside the yard by CMD along with senior officials and the employees on the occasion.
