Panjim, Jan 29, 2015:  The excitement for Goa Carnival 2015 has begun with selection of the King Momo for the  gala  Carnival  parade  commencing from February 14, 2015. A contest was organized by the Event Management Agency, M/s Advertizing Associates, where 13 candidates had applied. Geovani Bosco Santimano has been selected as King Momo and is the chosen one to rule over the Carnival festivities scheduled in Goa between February 14-17, 2015. He  will  lead  the Carnival  float  parades to be held  in the  four  cities  of  Goa (Panjim, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa).

The King Momo float is the main highlight at every Carnival.  As visitors wait with bated breath for King Momo and his impressive entourage to declare the Carnival celebrations open on February 14, 2015 at the first parade in Panjim. Shri. Santimano is a Senior Officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and presently posted as the Joint Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise. The 57-year-old King Momo belongs to the Goa’s beautiful South  Goa  coastal belt at Colva. He was the first prize winner of the Goa Carnival, Float on ‘Mixed Marriage’ held in 1998 and the second prize winner at the Goa Carnival in 2003.

Prior to this, he has participated as King Momo at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club Carnival in 2005 and has been a regular participant and winner at Carnival competitions between  2006 to 2010. Shri. Geovani Bosco Santimano is a strong sports enthusiast and has been the Captain of University of Mumbai Football Team, representative of India in Indian University Team. His qualification includes Bachelor of commerce from the Bombay University, Diploma in Management at LKY NUS Singapore, Diploma in Management at IIM Lucknow.

Shri. Santimano was selected by a five-member committee which comprises of the Chairman, Adv.Francisco Braganza- President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa(TTAG), Shri. Gaurish Dhond-Member of State Level Marketing and Promotional Committee (SLMPC), Shri. Francisco Martins-Eminent professional in the entertainment industry, Shri. Willy Goes- Asst. Professor Goa College of Fine Arts and Shri. Messias Tavares, entertainment professional.
