Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar is upset about the rampant wandering demands of Fr. Bismarck’s supporters which are changing very rapidly.

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar feels that there is none or rare chances of the existence of any foul play in the death of Fr. Bismarck, but still to make the people of Goa happy he assured that police will probe the matter on with complete transparency and dedication. Parsekar said that he is honoring all the demands of Fr. Bismarck’s supporters “When they demanded the transfer of Fr. Bismarck’s case from Goa Police to the Crime Branch I did it, now they are demanding to transfer the case to CBI, it is not acceptable, they need to give some time to the crime branch to probe into the matter and if required we will transfer the case to CBI later on,” said Parsekar. He was sounding very upset about the way supporters of Fr. Bismarck behaving. “I have also accepted the demand of appointing the trustworthy police officer to investigate this matter and, in fact, I was the first to tell the police to investigate the matter from all the angles,” Parsekar added.

Chief Minster feels that some social activists have swelled the matter beyond the limit and the reason behind this is not known. “When police submitted the report after the post mortem, I was convinced that there is no foul play and I still believe in it. I may be wrong and that is the reason I instructed the police to investigate the case from all the angles,” said Parsekar.

According to Parsekar, the preliminary report of the doctors claims that the death was due to the drowning, and all the injuries on his body were due to aquatic creatures which happened after his death. “There were no premortem injuries and that is made clear by both the autopsy reports,” said Parsekar. He also claimed that the picture will get clear after the receipt of viscera report. “It takes almost 6 months to get the viscera report but I have specifically instructed them to expedite the matter and I am assured that the report will come in the fortnight,” Parsekar added.

Parsekar feels that people need to be little more patience and wait till all the facts come into the light. “I am ready to cooperate and listen to all the demands of the supporters of Fr. Bismarck but coming out on the road defying the section 144 is not correct and it is resulting into spoiling the name of Goa on the international level as IFFI is in progress in the city,” Parsekar said. He denied the allegation of manhandling of people by the police saying that “Those who challenge the section 144 should also be prepared to face the consequences and spend few hours in the lockup instead of calling the MLAs and Ministers after getting arrested,” Said Parsekar.

On the issue of protest during the ISL matches, Parsekar said that he and his government is trying its best to allow the fair investigation into the death of Fr. Bismarck but if people still feel like threatening the government, then it is not fair.

If you look at the matter from the point of view of the CM, it seems that people really need to give the fair chance to Crime Branch and Goa Police to investigate the matter and maybe later on if not satisfied, bring the CBI in the picture. CM assured the complete cooperation into the matter and people can demand an explanation in the case of failure of fulfilling the promise by him. What do you think? People should give a fair chance to Goa Police and Crime Branch to investigate the case of Fr. Bismarck before handing in over to CBI? Creating the hurdles in the investigation will only delay the investigation? People need to trust the government and the words of CM? Please do leave your valuable comments and suggestions on this serious and burning issue.
