Ashutosh, the spokesperson of AAP told the media that, AAP has received the tremendous response from the people of Goa and according to him People are losing the faith in the ruling BJP government in the state. “People are now fed up with the ruling BJP government and they want to get rid of it. People of Goa needs new faces that are capable of ruling the state with new ideas,” he said.

According to Ashutosh, they are searching for the people to become the candidate of AAP and take up the responsibility. “Since AAP do not have high command culture at the moment we have set certain criteria in the selection of the aspiring candidates. According to that, first, the candidate should not be corrupt in nature second he or she should not have any criminal background and third, candidate should not be communal. Besides the above qualities the candidate must have a good reputation in the society,” he added.

According to Ashutosh when AAP identifies such candidate they take it forward into consideration. “The name of the candidate comes as suggestion within the party and the senior party leaders decides on the finalization of the candidate,” he said. He denied the pre-selection process of the candidate for CM position saying that “This kind of practice takes places only in the traditional political parties but according to our standards any of the co-coordinator (Volunteer) can be the candidate for CM.”

Ashutosh told the media that their major focus of propagation will be the restoration of the dignity and pride of Goa which has been destroyed by the corrupt political parties. “There is an issue of unemployment which is very serious at the moment in the state while other issues such as, mining, prostitution, gambling & drugs faced by the Goan people. The tourism industry is getting ruined. Basically, Goa has lost all that were the assets of this state,” he said adding that all this is done by corrupt politicians of Goa.
