According to the sources Jonah Fernandes, son of noted pop singer Remo Fernandes was involved into the road accident at Mapusa Panaji highway. He supposedly knocked down a 17-year-old girl walking on the road while driving the car in rash and negligent manner. The complaint against the pop singer Remo has been filed at the Mapusa police station this evening under the Goa Children’s Act for verbally abusing the minor victim who was knocked down by his son Jonah.

According to the post published by the noted lawyer and social activist Aires Rodrigues on the Facebook it has been alleged that the son of well-known singer and composer Remo Fernandes knocked down a 17-year-old girl while driving the car in a rash manner on the Mapusa Panaji highway near Porvorim. At the time of accident Mr. Remo was sitting beside his son. The above incident took place on the 1st December while he was traveling to Panaji along with his son Jonah who was apparently on the wheels. While reaching Guirim, he hit the pedestrian, a 17-year-old Helen Dsouza injuring her severely.

Helen is the resident of Malvan and she was proceeding to Old Goa to attend the Novena of St. Francis Xavier. The impact was so hard that girl was completely collapsed and when she was admitted to GMC she has been given the complete bed rest for three months. The report further claims that, after the accident took place in his presence, instead of helping the victim Mr. Remo Fernandes started behaving harshly with the victim and even verbally abused her. There was no chance that he would help the victim and hence she was taken to the GMC for the treatment. The case of Rash and negligent driving had been booked against the Jonah Fernandes by Mapusa Police.

Accidents are inevitable things and it can happen to anybody and anytime, but being the respected celebrity his behavior was highly unacceptable at that time. According to the reports, he did not even bother to visit the victim at GMC for last 17 days forget about any help.  “Noted pop singer Remo Fernandes in his songs may be passionately preaching about care and compassion but has time and again miserably failed to walk all his loud Talk,” claims Aires Rodregues on his FB post.

“This, however, comes as no surprise as Remo Fernandes did not show any concern for his own four musicians who were killed in that ghastly accident at Kanpur on 18th September 2000. One of the musicians killed was Selwyn Pereira of Ribandar, a budding young musician who was a pride for us all,” says the post.

The victim Helen Dsouza who was knocked down by the celebrity son hails from a very poor family, she does not have her father to support her and due to financial constraint, she even could not carry out her studies.

Through this post, we would like to appeal the readers to try to help the victim in whatever way possible she is lying on the bed no. 29 in ward 105 of GMC (Goa Medical Collage) “Even if you are unable to help her financially, your very presence by her bedside may bring tears of joy while she suffers due to the act of rash and negligent driving by the son of India’s famed singer Remo Fernandes,” appeals Mr. Rodregues in his FB post.
