THE ROBBERIES ARE ON RISING IN THE STATE, AND DESPITE PROMISING THE CCTV CAMERAS IN THE CAPITAL CITY OF GOA, NO CONCRETE STEPS HAS YET BEEN TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT OR CCP. THE CCTV FOOTAGE OF A BIKE ROBBERY AT MALA PANAJI WAS CAPTURED BY THE CCTV CAMERA INSTALLED IN THE NEARBY PRIVATE PREMISES. GOA PRISM MADE THE CCTV FOOTAGE VIRAL ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA, AND IT HELPED THE PANAJI POLICE TO NAB THE CULPRITS WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM PATTO AREA.

On the late night of Wednesday, a couple found moving in a suspicious manner at Mala area in Panaji. Their movement was captured by the CCTV camera installed in a private property in the vicinity.

The CCTV footage posted by Goa Prism on their Facebook page went viral in not time. But the couple who robbed the bike was not aware of the CCTV camera installed in the nearby vicinity, as they are seen coming towards the camera and then going back near the bike.

The culprits went near the bike and waited for some time before eloping in the darkness of the night along with the expensive bike. The CCTV footage shows the suspicious movements of the couple in the vicinity at a mid night.

The CCTV footage of the incident posted on the Goa Prism page went viral within few hours and was viewed by more that 65000 people and was shared more than 200 times on the social media, and the viral video on the social media finally helped the Panaji police to arrest the culprits from Patto area in Panaji within 24 hours time, said the police sources.

According to the Panaji police, the robbers were in the process of escaping out of the state with the stolen bike as they had already changed the number plates of the bike to hide its identity, but the most efficient Panaji police managed to intercept them before they could escape. 

The bike was handed over to its owner by the Panaji police and further investigations are in progress. The police will be trying to find out if they have done any more robberies in the state or elsewhere. The name of main culprits as given by the Panaji police, Pradeep Kallapa from Tiswadi while the identity the of the girl has not been revealed by the police but she is from Banastari, said the police sources.
