The Indian-American man Nitin Singh was charged with murder, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. The Singh is accused of stabbing his wife Seema Singh, 42, multiple times last week resulting into her death on the spot. He has been remanded to Salem Country Correctional Facility in default of bail of a million dollars cash, said the Pennsville Police Department.
The report published by the New York Journal in this regards claimed that while Singh was arrested by the police he was found covered with blood standing over his wife’s body in their kitchen on early Tuesday morning. This incident was narrated by the Pennsville Chief of Police Allan Cummings to the NJ.com. Cummings said that after killing his wife Singh himself had called 911 seeking the help for his wife.
According to the reports the couple has three children including two boys aged 16 and 6 and a 5-year-old girl. They were taken out of the apartment from the side doors so they do not see the crime scene in the kitchen. The children were taken to the Pennsville police station and state protective services workers took custody of them, the report said.
“This is a very horrific scene. It’s a situation where there are children involved and they have lost their mother and their father is probably going to be incarcerated,” Cummings said. Singh’s wife was pronounced dead at the scene and had been stabbed multiple times in the face, chest and abdomen. While authorities are investigating the cause of the murder, police have indicated it could have been some sort of domestic dispute.
Cummings said that Pennsville police had never been called to the Singhs’ apartment for any type of domestic troubles in the past. The Singh owned the building where the murder took place and had owned a convenience store in the locality. Neighbours expressed shock over the murder, saying it was hard to believe Singh could commit such a crime. “He’s the nicest person I ever met. I never heard any type of fighting going on. They never raised their voice or anything,” Singh’s neighbour George Hemple said of him.
Criminal minds are very difficult to read. This murder case will remain the mystery till accused Singh discloses the reason behind the brutal murder of his wife. These kind of cases shakes the foundation of the human relationships. The couple who were never heard of quarreled by the neighbor neither they had any sort of police records. The murder has come as a shock to everyone including the police.
