This year monsoon has become highly unpredictable with no raindrops for almost a month in the state the water levels of the Dams were started declining due to this which created serious scenario in the state. But in midst of uncertainty the rains started its magic on Thursday night. Due to the upper air cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan and neighborhood areas lead to reactivation of rainfall activity in Goa bringing the major relief to the farmers in Goa.

The heavy rainfall activity lashed various parts of Goa from Friday morning which was started the previous night. This lead to raise in water level in all the dams in the state that had gone down due to deficit rainfall for past month. A low pressure area that has formed over southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan and the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level is also partially responsible for the rainfall.

“Goa received heavy to very heavy rainfall since Friday morning,” N Haridasan, assistant meteorologist, meteorological centre, Panaji said.
