THE MAJOR REASON BEHIND MOST OF THE ROAD ACCIDENTS IS THE RASH AND NEGLIGENT DRIVING, WHICH INVARIABLY RESULTS INTO THE FATALITY. IN ONE SUCH ACCIDENT THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE CALANGUTE, A DRIVER OF THE HONDA ACCORD CAR DIED ON THE SPOT FOLLOWING THE VEHICLE HIT THE TREE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOPPLED….
Based on the information available from the reliable sources, the Honda Accord car with the registration number MH 02 BM 2209 was traveling towards the direction of Candolim from Calangute, at a very high speed, on the late night of Wednesday. But, while it reached near the Holiday street junction, the driver suppose to have lost control of the vehicle, and rammed into the tree on the side of the road, resulting into toppling of the car.
The sources had revealed that the impact was so severe that the front windshield of the car was damaged and the airbags were inflated. The police sources said that the accident took place in the early morning of Thursday at around 5.30 am.
According to the police sources, the car was driven by Purvesh Shah, 37 and resident of Vimal Nagar Pune and the driver died on the spot following the impact. Police further added that Purvesh was proceeding towards Candolim in his Honda Accord car along with one of his friend Loknath Prasad.
The car was at very high speed due to which the driver Purvesh lost the control over the vehicle, and rammed into the tree on the side of the road. The car toppled with the impact and the airbags were inflated.
The friend of Purvesh, Loknath, who was sitting next to the driver, called the police for help. On the receipt of the phone call, the Calangute police rushed to the accident spot and removed both the occupants who were stuck inside the car after an impact.
The police immediately shifted Purvesh and Loknath to the Candolim health center, where the doctors declared Purvesh as brought dead. The Calangute police conducted Alcohol examination of a survivor of Accident Loknath, and he was found to be under the influence of an Alcohol.
The body of the deceased Purvesh was sent to GMC for the postmortem, and the viscera has been retained for an examination to ascertain the exact cause of the death, said the Calangute police in-charge PI Jivba Dalvi. The dead body was handed over to the relatives of the deceased, said the sources.
According to the Calangute police, during the accident, the car also hit a pedestrian named Akhil, who supposed to have sustained minor injuries, and was discharged from the hospital after the treatment. Police have registered an offense under the motor vehicle Act and unnatural death. Further investigating is being carried out by PSI Girish Padloskar under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi.
