THE RISING CASES OF BIKE THEFT IN THE SOUTH GOA PROMPTED THE POLICE TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER SERIOUSLY AND FINALLY, THE MYSTERY HAS BEEN SOLVED AS COLVA POLICE SUCCESSFULLY NABBED THE THEIF DAVID FERNANDES WHO WAS ON THE SPREE OF STEALING BIKES FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF SOUTH GOA.
After the police have received constant complaints regarding bikes being stolen from several parts of South Goa like Colva, Cuncolim, Verna and Vasco, they started a serious investigation into the matter. They spread out their informers and to their luck, they found a lead for the case.
They were informed by a credible source that the suspect was seen moving suspiciously on Colva beach and according to LIB staff. The beat staff was then alerted about the situation who then laid a trap to lure the suspect in.
The police then successfully caught him and recovered five two wheelers that he had stolen from all over South Goa. David Fernandes who was arrested is a 19-year-old guy who managed to steal all these vehicles without being caught until recently.
South Goa Superintendent of Police Arvind Gawas did not rule out the possibility of his involvement in other two-wheeler theft cases. He informed that five two wheelers were recovered by Friday evening following his arrest. PI Costa credited the success of arrest to the whole Police Department. David was apprehended and he confessed his involvement in the thefts which is registered at Colva police station.
