Based on the available information from the reliable sources, A 28-year-old married woman who was in search of a property in Mumbai for the purpose of residence along with her husband has been gang-raped by several people and police have managed to round up seven accused while one still at large.
According to the police reports, the victim woman was in search of the residence in the Amboli area of Mumbai and she was out with her husband in the search of property on Monday night in Shamnagar slum area. According to the sources, on the night of the incidence, the victim woman along with her husband had stayed at the house of the local woman who was apparently helping her find the place.
On the night of Monday when the victim woman and her husband were put up at the local woman’s place the group of eight men belonging to the same area entered the house and raped her. “After the incident, the woman and her husband reached Amboli Police Station to lodge a complaint. Police registered a case against eight persons, one of them has a criminal record,” Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Ashok Dudhe said. The accused were produced in the court on Tuesday and were sent to police remand till November 4.
The victim girl is said to have been discharged after the initial treatment and the investigations are in progress said the police sources. according to the police sources, all the accused belongs to the same locality and are in the age group of 20-25. The medical examinations of the victim have confused the rape but the motive behind the crime is yet to be ascertained said the police sources.
