The 113th edition of the Mahindra Great Escape – one of India’s most popular off-roading adventures, concluded successfully in Goa recently, with more than 50 4WD vehicles from the Mahindra stable manoeuvering the challenging route. Mahindra customers from all across Goa participated in the event which received an overwhelming response from off-roading enthusiasts, leaving everyone asking for more. The rally was flagged off from Hotel Best Western, Quepem, Goa, as it presented an opportunity to explore the area’s scenic terrain. The event saw participation from the entire stable of Mahindra vehicles including the Bolero, Scorpio, Legend and the extreme off-roader – Mahindra Thar CRDe 4×4 – each representing the company’s tough and rugged DNA. These iconic Mahindra SUVs negotiated the arduous and slushy terrain of Goa and discovered what it’s like to be in the lap of nature.
Set against the backdrop of slushy rain soaked terrain and streams, Goa offered a picture-perfect postcard setting for a day of fun filled off-roading. For the auto enthusiasts, it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy the monsoon while tackling a challenging route. Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We are delighted to host this edition of the Mahindra Great Escape in the ever popular tourist destination of Goa. Over the years, the Great Escape has developed a reputation for being one of India’s most thrilling off-road events and this one was no different as it tested the limits of both man and machine to the extreme”.
The Mahindra Great Escape – under theMahindra Adventure umbrella brand – continues tolive up to it’s promise of encouraging an off-roading culture and demonstrating the tough and rugged DNA of Mahindra vehicles. Initiated in 2013, the concept of an all-India ‘Mahindra Off-Road Trophy’ has seen fierce competition as participants got a chance to demonstrate their off-road driving skills through different stages of obstacles.
Winners from the Goa Great Escape, along with winners from the Shillong and Lonavala Great Escape, will join winners from the other upcoming Great Escapes like, Hyderabad, Vagamon, Chandigarh, Ooty, Hyderabad, Sakleshpur, Gurgaon and Pushkar, to compete against each other for the trophy at the finals. This edition of the Mahindra Great Escape was conducted in association with MAXXIS, the official tyre partner for all the Great Escapes and the Off-Road trophy to be held this year.

The Mahindra Adventure calendar comprises a series of events throughout the year such as the popular off-roading event, the Great Escape, several Challenges (sporting events in keeping with the company’s promise of providing adrenaline pumping challenges), Multi-Day Escapes like Monastery Escape (Leg 1; Delhi- Manali- Jispa- Sarchu- Leh –Srinagar & Leg 2; Srinagar- Leh- Sarchu- Jispa- Manali- Delhi, for 10 days each), Royal Escape (Rajasthan drive for 6 days), Tri- Nation Escape (Bhutan, India & Nepal- 14 days), Authentic Goa (4 days) & Wild Escape (4 days drive to various Wild Life sanctuaries). In addition to the previously held events, this year new Multi-Day Escapes, such as Authentic North East (10 days)andSpiti Escape (7 days)have been added.
Mahindra Adventure also enters official teams in Indian Rally Championship (IRC). Team Mahindra Adventure made a thumping start in the first, second and third round of IRC this season and enjoys a commanding lead in the championship, with three more rounds remaining for the year.
To spread the DNA of off-roading, the Mahindra Adventure team has also recently launched the Mahindra Adventure Off- Road Training Academy in Igatpuri.
