For those students, who planned to leave their education before passing out their 10th with a hope of getting a good profile government job, will not be allowed to recruit as government employees as it is decided that henceforth persons with educational qualifications less than Class X/ITI pass will not be recruited as government employees but will be listed as multitasking staff. The state cabinet on Friday confirmed that Group D employees will be upgraded to Group C to extend benefits of the sixth and seventh pay commission.
[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”]According to a source, only government employees recruited after January 1, 2006, under Group D pay scale, who possess Class X/ITI pass qualification, will be upgraded to Group C. Those who don’t have the requisite qualification will be provided training and listed as multitasking staff with the job profiles of peon, security guard, gardener, sweeper, etc.
The Sixth Pay Commission has recommended the upgraded with the minimum qualification rider. Hundreds of government employees will benefit from this government decision.
“For those who possess a Class X/ITI pass qualification, the government has decided to give them a notional promotion and the grade pay would be effective from January 1, 2016,” chief secretary R K Srivastava. “Those who do not possess the requisite qualification will be trained for a period of three months and brought into this scale. The government has also decided that, from now on, those who do not possess the minimum qualification will not be recruited,” he said.
The upgrade becomes necessary because the Seventh Pay Commission does not recognize Group D, Srivastava said. Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar said all recruitments to positions such as sweeper, gardener, etc, in the category will be stopped and outsourced through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
