In one of the tragic incident, a youth from Taligao, Sagun Shankwalkar, nephew of Indian footballer Brahmanand Shankwalkar, got drowned late evening on Monday at Movacho Guno which is a very famous tourist spot in Goa. According to the sources, while clicking photographs, he slipped off the rock and drowned.

The duo reached the spot at 5 in the evening.  Sagun went down near the river and started clicking pictures. After he finished with his clicks, he handed over the camera to his friend Anthony and got down into the water. Sagun slipped off the rock due to huge water current and drowned.

After noticing that Sagun couldn’t be found, Anthony informed the villagers of the area and called for help. According to the sources, the locals informed the Police and called for the rescue team at 6 pm. The fire brigade and Polices went in search of him and conducted search operations.

According to the locals, Movacho Guno is a very dangerous spot for swimming as many of them have lost their lives. The search operation is still in action as the body is not to be found.
