In one of the shocking incidents, a 48-year-old US national tourist was found dead in her rented room in Canacona, the police claimed it is a case of suicide and they have registered the case of unnatural death, but reasons behind the alleged suicide are not yet known.
There are cases of several foreign nationals deaths occurring in Goa under mysterious circumstances and many of these cases have never been solved till date. There are no pieces of evidence but this case could also be one those mysterious deaths unless investigated properly and proved otherwise.
According to the report published by the local daily The Goan, the body of 48-year-old US national tourist was recovered from the rented places where she was staying. The police reported it as a suicide.
The report said that the death of the foreign national occurred due to the strangulation. Police sources have claimed that the deceased strangulated herself with the help of a rope in a rented room she was staying.
The deceased was identified as Sherrylee Dunn, a citizen of USA. She had arrived in Goa as a tourist, police said.
The incident of strangulation took place on Sunday at the rented room she was staying at Colomb in Canacona, said the police official.
After conducting a scene panchanama police sent her body for preservation and post mortem to Hospicio hospital, Margo.
“We have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident and the local FRRO, Panjim is intimated as per the requirements” and “no foul play is suspected in the incident” added a source at the police station.
