IN ONE OF THE MOST SHOCKING INCIDENTS THAT TOOK PLACE AT CANDOLIM IN NORTH GOA, A 19-YEAR-OLD TEENAGER HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BY THE CALANGUTE POLICE FOR HAVING THE DRUGS IN HIS POSSESSION. THE NAME OF THE YOUTH IS GIVEN AS SURESH RATHOD, 19, A NATIVE OF BIJAPUR IN KARNATAKA AND PRESENTLY LIVING IN GOA. THE TEENAGER WAS HAVING THE GANJA WORTH RS. 9000 IN HIS POSSESSION SAID CALANGUTE POLICE…   

It looks like the Calangute police are working hard towards the eradication of a drugs menace from the famous north Goa beach belt. After so many drug cases that have been reported in the past months, and just when we thought, it would all turn silent, the Calangute police have arrested a teenager named, Suresh Rathod for the possession of an of drugs. The youth is identified as the son of Dharma Rathod, who is originally from Bijapur, Karnataka. The police are at a war, fighting the drug abuse in Calangute, said the PI, Jivba Dalvi.

This is the 16th Narcotic case that has been booked, since 2017. The police said that they had received a tip-off, about the accused, coming near the ice factory in Candolim, in the intention of selling the drugs, a team of head-strong individuals was formed immediately, and sent to the area, and the accused perpetrator was nabbed in the raid. Ganja worth Rs 9,000/- had been seized during this raid, the accused person Suresh Rathod has been arrested under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act, 1985. The team consisted of PI Jivba Dalvi PSI Girish Padloskar, police constables Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar, Viraj Kashalkar and Nikhil Mandrekar conducted the raid.

Just when we thought there has been a silence, that most of the perpetrators are behind the bars, or are taken as serious offenders. The Calangute police team has shown resilience, and determination in the following weeks to free Goa from the shackles of drug abuse. And they are determined to continue their noble work of eradicating drug abuse from our state of Goa.
