In one of the shocking case, a 19-year-old engineering student had been hacked to death by her boyfriend’s friend while she resisted his attempt of rape. The accused stabbed the victim girl several times after she resisted him said the sources. According to the information available from reliable sources, a 19-year-old engineering student from Virar was hacked to death by her boyfriend’s friend on Friday evening after she supposedly resisted his attempt to rape her. According to the Mumbai police who reached the crime spot and found the girl lying in the pool of blood said that the victim girl was stabbed by the accused almost 17 times and that police recovered the axe stuck to her abdomen when they arrived at the house of accused where the crime took place.
The name of the victim as revealed by police is Aishwarya Agarwal, a second-year student of Viva College, who used to meet her boyfriend Sohail Shaikh (22) at the flat of the accused Deepak Wagri at OM Shiv CHS in Vihar (west) regularly.
The accused Wagri is a vegetable vendor and his wife would leave for the work in the morning while his two kids would be in school when the couple would come and spend time at his flat. The police have informed that the victim girl Aishwarya was a resident of Gokul Township and her boyfriend Shaikh used to live in Boling and has a go down for packaged drinking water.
According to the police, on a fateful day at around 2 pm the victim girl, as planned earlier, came to the flat to meet Shaikh. Taking advantage of the fact that her boyfriend did not arrive yet, Wagri (28) tried to sexually abuse Aishwarya. Facing resistance from her, Wagri, in a fit of rage, picked up an axe and attacked her with it. When Shaikh reached, he found Aishwarya in a pool of blood and called the police.
Police swung into the action and arrested the accused Wagri who confessed to a crime. He told the police that he attempted to rape the victim and while she tried to resist him in the fit of rage he attacked her with the axe. “I thought that since she was in a physical relationship with the Shaikh she would not mind having similar relations with me but she resisted and started screaming. I had left with no option but to make her silent.” He told the police. Police said that girls body was found in semi-nude condition but it is not yet established if Wagri had sexually abused her or not.
Shaikh told police that he had known Aishwarya since childhood and they were in a relationship for a year and a half and wanted to get married. Her parents, he said, knew about the affair and was opposed to it. The couple reportedly had been fighting over their relationship in recent days in Wagri’s flat. Shaikh has been detained for questioning. Wagri has been charged with murder and will be produced in Vasai court on Saturday.
The above case is a clear example of the crime against the woman is on the rising in the metro city and the girls need to be more careful when meeting with their friends at any third person house as it might turn out to be a nightmare. The involvement of the boy, in this case, cannot be ruled out and the police are doing the investigations in that direction.
