Every parent’s worst nightmare, you go to check on your child in the middle of the night, and he/she is not there. Your heart starts pounding and you fly into panic mode, calling his/her friends, your relatives, and the police. Similarly, in a recent case, two minors, residents of Ambegao, Pune, who had eloped from Pune, were traced and rescued by Goa police at Panaji bus stand on Saturday. The 17-year-olds met in college before they fell in love.

The first-year students took a bus three days ago and reached Goa on Friday evening. They spent the whole night at Panaji bus stand. The police noticed them during night patrolling and found out that it was a runaway case.

Both of them were brought to the police station and their statements were recorded in the presence of the victim assistant unit of the Goa government.

According to the information available, Panaji police has contacted the Pune authorities and the couple’s family members informing them of the incident, who, later left for Goa to take the teenagers’ custody.

The decision to run away from home is something that one should not take lightly. This is a huge decision that will impact their life and therefore they should take their own time to determine if it’s the right thing to do.
