Idea Cellular on Wednesday declared the most awaited launch of its high-speed 4G LTE (long term evolution) ) service into the major towns of Panaji, Margao,Vasco and Mapusa along with the 10 towns in Goa. The service has also been launched in Porvorim, Ponda, Calangute, Benaulim, Majorda, Verna and Goa Velha. Read here the full report.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] As said by the chief marketing officer of Idea Cellular Sashi Shankar, by the end of April Telco will extend its 4G LTE services to an additional 50 towns in Goa thereby taking the total tally to over 60 and soon covering more areas. In Goa, as of now Idea has 7.2 lakh customers.

Announcing the opening of 4G services, COO of Maharashtra and Goa, Rajendra Chourasia said, “Catering to the increased data demand and high internet speeds, today we have launched our world-class 4G LTE services in Goa. With the planned rollout in coming days, we are fully geared to fortify our presence in the state, strengthen our portfolio and support more people as they join the digital bandwagon.”

Sashi Shankar quoted, “Idea customers in the region with 4G devices can now start experiencing superfast speeds by simply upgrading their existing SIM cards to new 4G SIM cards. Idea has also partnered with leading handset manufacturers and e-commerce retailers for special offer on new 4G smartphones,”

Idea presently provides 4G LTE services in 10 circles together with Maharashtra and Goa, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Chennai, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Orissa and North East. Currently, this service is available in almost 600 towns.  By June 2016, Idea is also planning to extend 4G’s outline to over 750 towns.

Sashi Shankar said that the telecom company has partnered with market leader Samsung to offer a special package on its 4G Smartphone. He also added that the two have initiated multiple programmes to offer differentiate and significant value to customers.

The idea has also tied up with popular smartphone manufacturers including Intex Technologies, Lava, Lenovo and Xolo to offer a bundled 4G data plans on Smartphones due to the increased adoption of 4G smartphones in recent months Shankar said.
