Zero tolerance for the corruption was supposed to be the Manohar Parrikar mantra but now followed by Laxmikant Parsekar, no wonder, otherwise, the CM of Goa who also holds the Home portfolio will direct the police to conduct the inquiry into the Louis Berger matter and submit the report within just three days!! Three days is not very short span of time neither it is long for the police.

The attack on opposition is the best policy any ruling government would practice, and it is not the new story at all. According to the news published in the local daily “Goa chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Monday directed the Goa police to conduct an inquiry and urgently submit a report with regards to the bribery charges against consultant firm Louis Berger for the JICA water development project in 2010. Goa police said that they are in the process of collecting the relevant documents”.  Speaking to the media Parsekar said “Taking immediate action on the matter on Saturday, I had stated that I will ask the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate into the Louis Berger bribery case as the case is outside the country.”  “But before approaching prime minister or home minister to order CBI inquiry into the case, I need to secure the details about the case. Hence, I have asked the Goa police to investigate and submit the report urgently,” Parsekar stated and added that the Goa police is likely to submit the report within two to three days. He has also directed PWD to furnish all the documents related to JICA project to the Goa police for inquiry.

When media contacted the Director General of Police (DGP) T N Mohan he said that the government is expected to provide the details about the case in couple of days. “Details are being collected. In a couple of days, we will examine the available details and then proceed accordingly,” Mohan added. Mohan further said that the Goa Police will investigate into the matter and seek the details from Louis Berger offices located in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Bangalore.

The Defence Minister did not remain behind in this to hit out at the congress in Louis Berger case and demanded the two former ministers to come ahead and speak up who supposed to have been charged for paying a bribe of $ 1 million (6 crore approx) for the projects in Goa and Guwahati. Those bribed included a minister, whose name has not been revealed in documents released by the US justice department. Louis Berger has admitted to violating the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Law.
