There may be many cases in India in which husbands have been imprisoned for assaulting or killing their wife for the refusal of sex but this will be perhaps the rarest incident in which a woman has given a life term by the court while convicting her in the case of killing her husband for not having sex with her. This incident took place in the month of November 2013.
According to the reports, on November 2, 2013, when this incident took place, the accused Vimla was alone with her husband Narsinh at their residence in Noblenagar in Sardarnagar.
The additional senior judge U M Bhat convicted 54-year-old Vimla Vaghela to life term imprisonment and fined her Rs. 2000 on the default of which the convict will have to undergo further six months imprisonment as she was held guilty by the court for killing her husband for not having sex with her.
The charge sheet filed against the accused revealed that after her husband refused to have sex with her she got furious and started fighting with him. According to the sources, she doubted the fidelity of her husband and accused him of having extramarital affairs. The sources further revealed that during the fight she picked up a stick and in the fit of rage she started beating her husband on the head with the stick due to which he died of multiple injuries.
After the murder, the accused woman locked the door of her house from outside and went to the Sardarnagar police station as a complainant and lodged the complaint of the death of her husband. According to sources, later on in the police investigation, it was surfaced that she murdered her husband. Following to that she was arrested and charge sheeted claimed the report.
