Vishwasrao Dempo (1943 – 2015) expired on Saturday after brief illness

Renowned industrialist and co-founder Dempo group of companies, Vishwasrao Dempo father of prominent businessman Rajesh Dempo and uncle of Industrialist Srinivas Dempo expired on Saturday 19th September 2015, at the age of 71, after the brief illness at Manipal Hospitals, Dona Paula. He is survived by his wife, Krishnakumari, sons Yatish Dempo and Rajesh Dempo, and a daughter, Kalyani Dempo Laud. According to the available information, his funeral procession will leave the cottage at Dona Paula at around 11am on Sunday 20th September, for the St. Cruz family crematorium.

Vishwasrao Dempo was one of the well-respected personalities in Goa. Besides being the director of Dempo group of companies, he was also one of the trustees of the Dempo charities trust, which runs numerous educational institutions in Goa. He was also holding the position of director in Teri Dempo Initiatives & V S Dempo Holding Pvt. Ltd., the flagship companies of Dempo Group.

Besides the Dempo flagship a company, Vishwasrao Dempo was also the part of other initiatives ventured by his son Rajesh Dempo which includes, Dempo Kids & Dempo Healthcare, under the flagship of Vishwasrao Dempo Enterprise. Both the ventures are managed by his son.

Besides being actively involved into the business activities, Viswasrao Dempo was also involved into the socio-cultural activities. He was awarded the popular award of Melvin Jones Fellowship by the Lions Club, for his positive involvement. He also became the part of Indian Red Cross Society. He has many awards and mementoes to his credits.

His demise is the great loss to his family as well to the society he was serving selflessly. People will always remember him as pleasant ever smiling personality of Goa. Goa Prism pays homage to this great personality, May his soul rest in peace.
