Vijay Mallya is been in the news for quite some time now due to the 9000 crore bank loan default case. Mallya has the properties in Goa and one of his liquor producing plant is operational in Goa at Bethora Industrial Estates. The Goa plant is operational since past few decades in Goa have now applied for the expansion capacity of their plant and Goa government has principally agreed to it.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] According to the PTI news agency, The Goa government granted in-principle approval to Vijay Mallya-promoted United Breweries on Thursday to expand the capacity of its plant in the state by 25%. “United Breweries Limited located at Bethora Industrial Estate of Goa had submitted a proposal to increase the capacity of its plant by 25%,” a senior official of Goa Investment Promotion Board (GIPB) told PTI.

The company which is operating in Goa for past few decades is planning an expansion to increase its manufacturing capacity. Based on the available information the company has proposed the increase in capacity from .75 million cases to 1 million cases per month.

According to the sources, the proposed expansion will incur additional investment of Rs. 65 crore, although the sources in the company have assured the government that there will be no additional power or water consumption needed for the proposed expansion.

UB group has been a milking cow for flamboyant Vijay Mallya and most of the profits of the company seem to be generated from it.  Goa unit is working for past few decades in full capacity and the present proposal of expansion only gives the indication of an increase in demand for more bottles.
