In one of the most shocking incident, two teenagers were allegedly gang-raped in a moving SUV by six men in Gujarat’s Dahod Dahod District. A accrued supposed to have told the father of girls that this act is the part of revenge against the latter’s son. Five of the total thirteen people believed to be involved in this gruesome act have been arrested by the police and one of the accused is still absconding.

According to the information available from the reliable sources, the incident took place around 200 km from Ahmedabad on Thursday wherein the six men have gang-raped two teenagers aged 13 and 15 in front of their father in the moving SUV. According to the Gujarat police, the alleged attackers wanted to punish the family of the victims after the girl’s brother accused one of them of bootlegging. Gujarat is a dry state.

According to the Gujarat police, five accused out of six have been arrested and the sixth one is still on run. Meanwhile, the police have revealed that there were total 13 people involved in the act of kidnapping and six of them raped the minor sisters, the police are in search of remaining eight people including one rapist, said the sources.

The police officer on the duty told the media that, 5 of the thirteen people were involved into the kidnapping the girls in SUV have been rounded up by the police. The two sisters aged 13 and 15 were kidnaped from their shop in a Bhoot Bangla Village in Dahod District on Thursday and were forced into the SUV. 4 of the accused were followed the SUV on two motorcycles, while six inside the vehicles had raped the girls in turns. “There was an incident of kidnapping and rape on two minor girls from Bhoot Bangla Village in Dahod district and police immediately swung into the action and 5 accused. The entire operation has been carried out with the help of 6 teams formed under the guidance of SP and DySp,” said the police officer.

One of the arrested accused named Kumat Baria was involved in the selling of liquor which is prohibited in the Gujarat. According to the reports On Wednesday morning, Baria and his accomplices, about 13 men, drove up on motorcycles and an SUV at the village shop that the father runs. They allegedly dragged the girls and the father into the SUV and drove away. Six men then allegedly took turns to rape the girls, before pushing them and the father out of the car about 25 km away from their shop.      

The Dahod police said a case of gang-raping and abduction has been registered and also a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, a special law enacted in 2012 to protect children from sexual offenders. Gujarat has been a dry state, right from the 1960s when the state was carved out of Mumbai. It had continued with the prohibition policy, emulated later by some other states including Nagaland and Bihar.

There is no existence of law and order in our country. Gujarat despite being banned the liquor business is running successfully and this incident is the eye-opener for the people in the administration. This inhuman act could have been avoided if the people had a fear of police and administration but unfortunately that is not the case here. Presently the police have caught hold of 5 culprits and the sixth accused is on run. Only the coming days will reveal as what kind of punishment those devils gets.
