Goa Mumbai highway is most vulnerable for the road accidents, and despite dozens of accidents taking place on a daily basis people does not seems to care about the same and continues to drive the vehicle in a negligent manner thus causing more road accidents. In the following case, a terrible road accident caused two their lives…

According to the sources, four employees of the Hindustan Unilever Limited were on their way from Goa to Mumbai in their private vehicle when their vehicle met with an accident at Khed in Maharastra.

The incident took place on Sunday 1st July 2018 at 5.15 pm on the Mumbai Goa highway. According to the reports, a chemical tanker rammed into a car in which the 4 executives of Hindustan Unilever Ltd were traveling, killing two of them instantly.

The two senior members were recognized as Vishal Mhaple an HR manager from Mumbai and Girish Barve a factory manager from Kolhapur. The other members included Rajesh Joshi and Rakesh Vadalkar who were injured and are currently admitted at the Life Care Hospital in Chiplun.

The exact location of the accident is said to be the highway road (NH-66) at Dhabil village in Khed taluka, Ratnagiri. The four executives lived in Chiplun and worked at the detergent and soaps plant at Lote Parshuram MIDC.

According to reports from TOI, Police Head Constable Bhusan Sawant from Khed said that at the time of accident factory manager Girish Barve was driving the car. The report further quotes that the two other executives have been gravely injured in this accident. Vadalkar suffered a head injury and is currently in the ICU and Joshi suffered a right wrist fracture, multiple abrasions in the left shoulder, and blunt injuries in the left shoulder and back.

The above image shows how severe the accident was. The car seems to have tumbled down and crashed after it was hit by the empty chemical tanker.

Highways usually have big and heavy vehicles moving across to transport goods and commodities, and these vehicles are often prone to the accidents.

Police are currently looking out for the tanker driver who apparently fled from the scene after the accident took place. The police have booked the case under the various sections of rash and negligent driving against the tanker driver. Further information of the case will be provided once the investigation is complete.
