The Political parties are mushrooming in the tiny state of Goa. It appears like despite Goa being one of the smallest states in India Goa has more political parties than the number of seats. Each candidate wants to form its own political party or contest independently. Based on the available news from the reliable sources, two more political parties are on their way to be born before the Christmas in North Goa.

According to the sources, two more political parties are coming into the existence before the Christmas this year. The sources have revealed that election commission of Goa has received two applications for the formation of new political parties. The names of the two parties given as “Sattari Yuva Morcha” from Valpoi Sattari and “Goa Nationalist Party” from Poriem.

The sources in the election commission have revealed that Sattari Yuva Morcha is a cultural group from Sattari while the Goa Nationalist Party is Poriem based entity and both are in process of getting registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI) as political parties under Section 29A of Representation of People Act, 1951. The two groups from Goa feature in the list of 22 presently under consideration by ECI for formal registration as political parties.

The sources have revealed that ECI has sought objections from the general public to the applications of these two new parties with the last date for filing of objections being set on December 19. Sattari Yuva Morcha, in its application to ECI, has named Umlo Gawade as its president while also stating that its headquarter is based at Guleli, Sattari. Anand Vitthal Parab has been listed as the secretary of the party and Tulshi Navelkar has been named as its treasurer. Public notices seeking objections to both the applications were published in two newspapers on November 17 and 18.

Meanwhile the Valpoi MLA, Vishwajit Rane has ruled out his association with the Sattari Yuva Morcha and decided to remain loyal to the Congress party. The sources have said that Vishwajit is in process of pledging his commitment to Congress in an attempt to reassure the top leader of Congress about his presence in the upcoming assembly elections.

However, despite his oft-repeated public declaration that Sattari Yuva Morcha is not his baby, the Valpoi MLA’s official member profile on the Goa Legislative Assembly website lists ‘President and Founder of Sattari Yuva Morcha’ among his social and cultural activities.

The above facts have also been clubbed with the presence of the Sattari Yuva Morcha on the Social Network. According to the posts on social media like Facebook and Twitter has the posting with the photo of Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane with the quote “We at Sattari Yuva Morcha believe in the power of its leaders, it is only when individuals have faith in its leaders will the nation progress for the better #SattariYuvaMorcha.”

Meanwhile, the Poriem constituency belongs to Senior Rane who is an invincible candidate from that area. Does the formation of the new political Party Goa Nationalist Party has a participation of senior Rane?
