Drug possession in Goa is seen increasing day by day. Those who are caught by the police come to the light but others are still into it from a long time now. Two persons were arrested by Anjuna police for possession of narcotic substance worth 23,000. The two were caught on Wednesday night and the narcotic substance found with the accused is suspected to be charas. Here is a report.

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] It was at the time of patrolling at Anjuna, that the police suspected two persons having illegal possession of the drug. One was identified as Haroon Parvez, a native of Kerala. Police took Parvez into custody and carried out a search on him.

During the search police found 2.4g of charas on his person. As said by the police, at the time of interrogation Parvez disclosed that he had purchased the narcotic substance from a person identified as Manzoor Ahmed of Kashmir.

Police then immediately went on a search of the residence of Ahmed at Anjuna and arrested the second accused in the case.

Both the accused were produced before JMFC court Mapusa.
