There are quite a few instances of luring the girls from Goa by the outsiders on the pretext of a lucrative employment offers, such as modeling career or giving the opportunity in the film industry, but the case of kidnapping has come up maybe for the first time in the media. A 23-Year-Old girl was supposedly kidnaped by a Travel Agent from Tamil Nadu on the pretext of providing her the job.

According to the report, a travel agent from Tamil Nadu has been arrested for kidnapping a woman from Mapusa on the pretext of providing a job. She was allegedly kidnapped from outside a Bank in Mapusa and then driven down to Colva by the accused where she raised an alarm and was rescued by Goa Police.

While on the one hand, India boasts of its campaign of Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao, the crimes against women continue all over the country.

The incident took place outside a bank at Mapusa where the woman was standing and was approached by the accused, who offered her a job.

Her interest in the job offer led the accused to take her to Colva where they could discuss the details of the job.

According to the Police, the lady suspected something fishy on reaching Colva and raised an alarm at a petrol pump where she called the Colva Police, who reached the spot as soon as possible.

Both the victim and accused were brought to the Colva Police Station while her family had reached to the Mapusa Police station and decided to file a complaint there.

The accused had come to Goa on September 9th, was staying at a hotel in Mapusa and wanted to get into water sports activities.

It is very difficult to believe as to how the mature people get lured to such offers and get into the traps of the criminal minds. There is a need for serious counseling to eradicate such cases in the future.
