Transfers of government officers are the normal practice in any department. Some stay for years at the same place while others gets transferred citing various reasons. One such senior IAS officer, Ameya Abhayankar, Director of tourism has been transferred to IT Department, reports PTI.

According to the news published by the Press Trust of India (PTI), the chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar has transferred the Tourism Director and 17 other senior officers due to the indiscipline in the various departments. The order in this regards has been issued by the office yesterday.

The Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar claimed that the following transfers have been initiated owing to indiscipline in departments. “Prior to the transfers we have conducted surprise inspections across all the departments and found the prevailing indiscipline at various places in government departments,” said Parsekar. The heads of the departments were instructed to put their places in order added Parsekar.

The transfer order of the officers was signed by the additional secretary (Personnel) Yatendra Maralkar directing the respective officers to get relieved within three days of the order. Based on the order the transfers and reschedule of the duties of the following officers are as follows.

The State Tourism Director Ameya Abhayankar has been transferred to the Information Technology Department (IT), relieving Shilpa Shinde, who has been given the charge of Director, Women and Child Development.

Sanjiv Desai from South Goa District Administration has taken over the charge of State’s Tourism Director.

Margao Municipal Council Chief Officer Y B Tawde has been made the additional collector of South Goa. Tawade has been replaced by the relieved Kala Academy Member Secretary Siddhivinayak Naik.

Sneha Morajkar, former undersecretary to chief minister has been appointed as Joint Secretary of Administrative Reforms Department.

Pravin Bharad former Assistant Director of Industries Department has been designated as Managing Director of Goa State Scheduled Castes & Other Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation.
