There was a major accident that took place at Morjim in North Goa causing the death of two youth from the same Village.The reports have revealed that one of them was a Police Constable. According to the sources, the youth were partying hard late night and while they were back on their way met with an accident at Khind in Morjim.
According to the sources, two youth from Mojrjim in North Goa were attending the late night party in Morjim Beach and one of them was the Police Constable who had joined the Indian Reserve Police Battalion two years back. The sources have revealed that, after finishing the late night party when the duo was returning back home on their bike, they met with an accident on Chopdem – Khind Road in Morjim.
The names of the youths given as Sandesh Govenkar (25) and Akshay Pednekar (27) both were the residents of Pokewada Morjim said the sources. The sources said that late night party turned tragic for their families who lost their young support system in this accident.
According to the Pernem Police, the accident took place at around 12.45am when Sandesh and Akshay were returning back home on the two wheelers via Chopdem – Khind Road in Morjim. The police said that the two-wheeler hit the electric pole along the road at Khind causing the severe injury to both.
According to the sources, the injured youth were shifted to the North Goa District Hospital immediately after the accident but the duo succumbed to their injuries while undergoing the treatment at the Hospital at around 1.00 am, said Police.
The Police sources also stated that one of the deceased youth in them, Sandesh Govenkar (25) was the Police Constable, who had joined the Indian Reserve Battalion about two years ago, while the other deceased Akshay Pednekar (27) was employed at a shack in Morjim. The widowed mother of one of the deceased Akshay Pednekar also works at Shack Restaurant in Morjim.

Police sources said that they are doing further investigation in this case while the bodies of both the youth have been sent for the post-mortem at GMC (Goa Medical College) Bambolim. Two valuable lives lost in yet another accident due to rash and negligence driving. It is the big loss for their parents which cannot be filled and hence we suggest the youth of Goa to harness their energy for the better work then driving and riding the bikes in a rash manner which is dangerous not only for them but to the other innocent people on the roads.
