There is nothing wrong in opting for the Portuguese nationality, says Remo Fernandes

Goa Police has issued the lookout notice for Remo Fernandes who was involved in verbally abusing the minor victim while Remo is in Portugal at present and he says that there is nothing wrong in opting for any other nationality. He also said that he is a Portuguese national at the moment and will be celebrating his first Christmas in his new country.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in accepting any nationality but the question here is not about the nationality alone. There are more aspects attached to it. Presently Goa Police has issued to lookout notice for Remo as according to the police they do not have his whereabouts and Remo had failed to appear before the Agasaim Police station in the case of alleged verbal abuse to a minor victim who was knocked down by the Jonah Fernandes.

According to Aggasaim PI (Police Inspector) Jivba Dalvi, The accused person (Remo) is required in Agasaim police station and if there is any information on his whereabouts, please do intimate the nearby police station. Meanwhile the counsel of Ramo Fernandes Adv. Damodar Dhond has informed the Aggasaim police station that his client (Remo) will arrive in Goa on or before January 8, 2016. In his statement, Dhond said that “I hereby submit that as per the instructions from my client (Remo) he is trying to reach Goa on or before 8th January 2016 to respond to the investigation of Aggasaim police in the alleged crime.”

Meanwhile, it has now been confirmed that the celebrity pop star of Goa Remo Fernandes holds the Portuguese passport and also that he has accepted the Portuguese nationality. The Goa Police has written a letter to FRRO (Foreigner Regional Registration Office of the Goa Police asking them to serve the same to Remo through Indian Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal. According to Goa Police, it is necessary to intimate the Portugal authorities about the deed of Remo in which he is involved into the verbal abuse to the minor victim who is presently undergoing the treatment at GMC (Goa Medical Collage) after she was hit by the car driven by Jonah Fernandes in Rash and Negligent manner. According to the reports the Goa police tried to contact Remo at his Siolim residence but since the door was locked the summons notice had been posted on the door.

Meanwhile in the midst of all these Remo had confirmed that he is now a Portuguese national and he is proud of it. According to the sources Remo had said that, there is nothing disgraceful in being opted for the nationality of another country and I am looking forward to celebrate my first Christmas along with my family members in my new country.  According to the information available from the reliable sources, Remo claimed that he has an OCI card which makes him an overseas citizen of India.  “I have the OCI card which makes me the overseas citizen of India. I have not hidden these facts anytime and the claims made by the police are completely misleading,” Remo said. He also said that it was his personal choice to opt for the nationality of his choice.
