Rahim was heading towards Baina from Vasco with his mother after shopping for Diwali celebration. A speeding truck while overtaking dashed the scooter which resulted in both the mother and her son to fall on the road.

Rahim was hit to the roadside concrete layers after which, he died on the spot due to grievous injuries sustained on his head while his mother had a miraculous escape. Vasco police are further investigating into the case.

There are various reasons for an accident to take place. Even a simple distraction while driving or riding can cause a road accident. Such negligence of a driver is not forgivable. The economic impact of an accident can be assessed but the emotional one is impossible to be accounted. Along with the victims, even family members suffer a great deal.

Our law does not provide strict action in the accident cases and these culprits escape and get back on the roads to take more lives. If the punishment for such accidents gets harsher, then such drivers might develop a fear to even drive rashly on the roads. It’s time for the government to give a deep thought over such serious matter where innocent people have to lose their lives.
