Another accident took place a Speeding Navy truck rams into the mini bus at Vasco Injuring three It is no more mining trucks and tankers that come in the category of monster trucks alone, but now the most disciplined Navy trucks also seem following the similar trend. The accident that took place at Vasco on Monday proves this fact. [su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”] According to the sources, a speeding Navy truck bearing the registration number 00D133893KM collided with the minibus bearing the registration number GA-02-V-4461 so hard that the bus was pushed almost 20 meters hitting the official car of power minister Milind Naik and an ongoing motorcycle. Luckily the minister was not in the car at that moment. In the accident the motorcycle rider, pillion rider and bus driver got severely injured while the passengers in the bus escaped unhurt said the eyewitness.

This incident took place near Prince Bakery at Vasco. According to the eyewitness, the former councilor Shanti Mandrekar, the bus was proceeding towards the Bogda from Headland Sada junction while the speeding Navy truck was on its way towards Headland Sada Junction. “On reaching near Prince Bakery, the navy truck dashed against the bus and damaged its cabin. As a result of the mishap, the bus was pushed almost 20 meters back and struck the ministers official car,” narrated Mandrekar. “Luckily, the minister was not in the car at the time of the accident. The panic-stricken passengers jumped out of the bus,” he added.

Mandrekar further said that the motorcycle bearing the registration number        GA-06-C-5961, that was also proceeding towards Bogda went underneath the bus with the impact and the pillion rider was thrown out of the two-wheeler, “The pillion rider, Pushpalata Pednekar jumped off the bike which went underneath the bus,” said Mandrekar. Both the occupant of the bike got hurt with the rider fracturing his leg in the accident.

This accident was the outcome of complete negligence from the part of the truck driver who claimed the accident happened due to the failure of breaks. The Vasco police said that the driver could not control the truck due to the failure of the breaks and collided with the bus.

Police have registered the case of rash and negligent driving against the truck driver and they are doing the further investigation in this case. One can only imagine the consequences of the impact if it had to happen with any ongoing car, nobody would have survived.
