In a very shocking incident the maid servant of AYUSH minister Shripad Naik was found allegedly murdered by an unidentified man near his Raibandar residence. Police sources said that the 48 year old maid servant Charu Rathod’s body was found near the private residence of the AYUSH minister at Raibandar near Panaji in the wee hours on Sunday. According to the police officials of Old Goa police station who is investigating this case “Rathod was a widow working at the minister’s residence since long time, she has been staying in Goa for more than twenty years” they said.
Police said they suspected Rathod, a native of Bagalkot, Karnataka, who was staying with her two sons and a daughter, was murdered by her friend who was also staying with them. They said Rathod moved to Goa 20 years ago, and had been working at Naik’s house for quite a few years. Her husband had died eight years ago.
Police suspects that the Rathod might have been killed while returning to her home last night, according the sources the mobile phone and a set of earrings were found missing from her body. Meanwhile the police have identified the culprit “Ramanna” (Full name no disclosed) as a suspected person behind this murder and police is looking out for him. Rathod’s son lodged a complaint against a family friend in connection with the murder. In his complaint, he said that on Saturday his mother had had a fight with the friend. The son said since the family friend was drunk, his mother did not let him enter the house. He said the friend also abused and threatened them with dire consequences. The doctors who conducted the postmortem said the death was caused due to manual strangulation.
