According to the latest development that took place in Sheena Bora murder case, the CBI team led by Goa Police has searched the Goa-based residence of Peter Mukherjea, husband of prime accused in Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukherjea. According to the news published by PTI on Monday, based on the inputs received from suspects in Sheena Bora murder case, a team of CBI from Delhi carried out the search operations at all the residences of Peter and Indrani Mukherjea which also included the residence located at Betim in Goa supposedly owned by Peter Mukherjea.
According to the sources, the residence of Peter is situated at Betim in Goa and CBI managed to recover some important documents from that place. The CBI team which came from Delhi to conduct the search operation in Goa was assisted by the local police in Goa and the search which had begun in the morning went up to the afternoon.
The sources have also revealed that besides Goa the CBI has ransacked the other properties belonging to Peter and Indrani Mukerjea in Mumbai, two residences of Sanjiv Khanna in Kolkata, Indrani’s driver Shyam’s residence in Mumbai and Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh has also been searched by the sleuths. The search also included the Indrani’s ancestral house in Guwahati. Although according to the sources the agency is searching for some specific corroborative pieces of evidence but nothing has been revealed by them at this stage. They only said that, based on the interrogations of Indrani, Sanjeev, Peter and Rai, they are now trying to find out the possible motives behind the murder of Sheena Bora.
It may be recalled that Indrani and Shyam were arrested on the charges of murdering the daughter of Indrani, Sheena Bora and disposing of her body in the jungle of Raigad near Mumbai in April 2012. The twenty-four-year-old Sheena, the issue from the first marriage of Indrani was murdered on 24th April 2012 and her body was burnt the next day in Jungle of Raigad near Mumbai. The Mumbai police managed to recover the remains of the body from Jungle and the superimposition of the skull found in Jungle had matched with the Sheena Bora’s profile.
Police did extensive grilling of Indrani and Peter, who is not directly connected, in this case, and others who had been interrogated are, Peter’s Son Rahul Mukerjea and daughter Vidhie, who is the biological daughter of Sanjiv and Indrani.
The CBI, who recently took over the case from the previous investigating officer Rakesh Maria, has filed the charges under various sections of IPC including the criminal conspiracy, Murder, abduction, destruction of the evidence, causing hurt giving poison and Arms act.
After the former Mumbai police chief, Rakesh Maria was shunted out of this case in the midst of the investigation which he had done with complete dedication and passion. Subsequent to the expulsion of Rakesh Maria the picture of justice to this case looked dim but now it looks like that CBI has proved everyone wrong and worked hard in this case to make sure that all the culprits, in this case, will be punished. Now that the case happened to be reached to its climax very soon the justice will be done to the Sheena Bora.
