On the occasion of Gudi Padwa the hindu new year temple authorities from Shani Shingnapur deflated its 400-year-old tradition, allowing women devotees to enter the inner sanctum of the temple for prayers. This is actually a great triumph against the gender inequality. Despite of the order given by the Bombay high Court to give equal rights to men and women to enter the temple, women were blocked, beaten and pushed out of the temple on 2nd April. Now we can say this fight for a good cause has shown this bright day for a women community in India. This century old custom had banned women from entering into the inner sanctum, has now given access to all equally showing the impartial victory. Read the whole report here.
