In one of the serious incidence that took place near St. Jacinto Island in Vasco da Gama Goa, the car met with an accident injuring eight people. According to sources, it was Maruti Swift rent-a-car which was proceeding towards Vasco from Cortalim and while car reached Near St. Jacinto Island it rammed into Kadamba bus proceeding towards the opposite direction injuring eight persons.

The accident said to have been taken place near St. Jacinto Island at Vasco-da-Gama, Goa.

The sources have revealed that on Sunday at around 10.30 am in the morning, a speeding car was proceeding towards the Dabolim (Vasco) airport and while it reached near St. Jacinto Island, rammed into the Kadamba bus coming from the opposite direction. The Kadamba was proceeding towards Panaji from Vasco, said the sources. The impact was such that the drivers of both the vehicles lost control due to which the ill-fated car landed into a roadside ditch.

According to the sources, three occupants, out of a total of five in the Maruti Swift car were injured while five passengers traveling in Kadamba bus sustained minor injuries. Five passengers from KTC bus were discharged from hospital after administering first aid treatment, while three occupants of the Maruti Swift car were shifted to GMC Hospital at Bambolim after referring them to the Cottage Hospital at Chicalim.

In this accident both the vehicles were damaged and the estimated loss it yet to be ascertained said the sources. The Verna police who are investigating the case are likely to register an offense against the driver of the Maruti Swift car for driving the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner. The conditions of the occupants who were referred to GMC Hospital are reported to be stable and that they are out of danger.

Most of the accidents in the state take place due to the negligence of the driver. Here, in this case, it has been ascertained that the car driver was driving in a rash and negligent manner causing the accident. How many times the infrastructure is responsible for the accidents?
