Reportedly the victim was stabbed brutally when she tried to resist the robbery.
Chikku Robert was 28-year-old Indian lady working at a Hospital in Salalah for the past two years. She was living with her husband Linson to whom she married seven months back and he was also working at the same hospital. According to reports, Chikku was stabbed to death when she tried to resist a robbery.
Indian newspaper Hindustan Times quoted Times of Oman as saying that Chikku Robert, who hailed from Kerala, was found with at least a dozen stab wounds on her body.
Reportedly on the fateful day when Chikku did not report to her duty at 11pm on Wednesday her husband went to check on her and found her lying in the pool of blood on the floor. “She was found dead in her apartment yesterday. She was supposed to be on duty by 10 pm. As she didn’t turn up to duty, her husband went to the apartment only to find her lying dead,” Manpreet Singh, the honorary Indian consular agent in Salalah, has quoted.
According to the sources, a Pakistani national who was residing next-door apartment of deceased Chikku has been arrested in the connection of this incident. “Investigation is on, police have sealed the area and the body is kept in Sultan Qaboos Hospital,” Mr. Singh added.
This news is more shocking since this kind of incident took place in Oman which is considered to be highly disciplined and secured. Robberies and murders are not the routine affairs in there. The further investigations are in progress and we will update you soon on this.
