CONGRESS MAHILA PRESIDENT PRATIMA COUTINHO MADE AN ALLEGATIONS AGAINST THE FORMER BJP MLA OF PANAJI, SIDDHARTH KUNCOLIENKAR, SAYING THAT KUNCOLIENKAR ALONG WITH OTHER BJP WORKERS HAD MISBEHAVED WITH THE CONGRESS MAHILA WORKERS AND THREATEN THEM OF A POLICE CUSTODY. THIS INCIDENT INDICATES HOW MUCH OF TENSION PREVAILS IN THE BJP CAMP PERTAINING TO THE BY POLLS OF PANAJI….
According to the sources, the police complaint has been lodged by the Congress workers in the Panaji town police station accusing the former BJP MLA Mr. Siddharth Kuncolienkar for outraging the modesty of the Congress Mahila workers. There was a huge chaos noticed in the afternoon at the Caranzalem polling booth wherein a large amount of Congress and BJP workers were seen assembled.
The sources revealed that there was a clash between the workers of both the parties over the issue of snatching of the polling papers. The cross complaints in this regards had been lodged by both the parties in Panaji town police station.
Meanwhile, speaking with the media outside the Panaji police station, the President of Mahila Congress, Mrs. Pratima Coutinho, accused the former MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar, for the snatching of election papers from the Mahila Congress Workers at Caranzalem polling booth and subsequently threatening them of police custody.
“BJP is scared and they are finally resorting to such tactics,” said Pratima Coutinho adding that “Sidhharth Kuncolienkar along with Shital Dattaprasad Naik came to the Caranzalem polling booth and grabbed the election papers from Mahila Congress Worker by threatening them of a police custody.” She demanded the immediate arrest of former MLA and BJP workers involved in this act.
Meanwhile, the cross complaint in this regards had been lodged by Mrs. Shital Dattaprasad Naik at the Panaji police station, in which she alleged the same against the Congress workers. This incident was very sad, and it shows the amount of insecurity mounting on both the sides of the party workers pertaining to this by poll.
The Panaji and Valpoi by polls will not alone define the destiny of two political stalwarts, but, it will also decide who will be ruling Goa next. This sparks only points towards one thing and that, this will be a game changing a victory for either party.
