SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES ARE GROWING IN THE STATE, AND ONE SUCH INCIDENT THAT TOOK PLACE IN MAPUSA, A 17 YEAR GIRL WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED BY THE ACCUSED WHOSE IDENTITY HAD NOT BEEN REVEALED BY THE POLICE YET…

The incident supposed to have taken place in Khorlim Mapusa, on 11th September at around 10.30 pm, said the sources. According to the police reports, the accused who is a resident of Ganganagar Khorlim Mapusa was booked by Mapusa Police for in a sexual assault case involving the minor girl.

According to the reports, the accused forcibly entered the house of a victim girl at around 10.30 pm on the 11th September and demanded the sexual favors, and when the girl opposed, he forcibly sexually assaulted her, and later he threatened her with the dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

The sources said that when the incident took place, the girl’s father was not at home as he had met with an accident, and had traveled to Belgaum for medical treatment along with his son.

Upon his return on 14th September, the victim girl narrated the whole incident to her father, and he later lodged the police complaint about the sexual assault.

The Mapusa police have registered an offense against the accused under sections 488, 354(A), 504, 509, 506(ii) and section 8 of Goa Children’s Act. The further investigation is underway said the Mapusa police.
