On the top of that, buses were the only medium for a public transport in this coastal state which at present experiencing a huge rush due to summer vacations.

General Secretary of All Goa Taxi Owners’ Association Mr.Vinayak Nanoskar told PTI that, “The strike is successful. Not a single taxi is plying. I do sympathize with the tourists who are facing hardship but we were left with no other option.”

He also put a light on their demands to put a ban on the rent-a-car and rent-a-bike business which has affected their business in this tourist state.

Today’s strike we can say, affected the tourist as they were seen stuck at Dabolim airport, at railway stations and on various bus stands. Hotels managed to offer pick-up and drop service to their guests by arranging the separate buses.

Goa receives large amount of tourist since this is a right time for their arrival to enjoy summer vacation. There is an obvious worry now that, tourists that are come to Goa will take what kind of an image of Goans and Goa for what we call a paradise on earth.

The taxi operators are firm on their demands and have warned that if the state government does not adhere to their demands, the strike would continue for an indefinite period.
